"Cute utilitarianism"

"Cute utilitarianism". That is how Luella Bartley described her latest collection, mainly based on masterpieces from her successful summer '08 collection. The "lolita" alike patterns in dresses, together with the edgy details in pants and t-shirts (apparently simple garments) make this collection instantly desirable.

Many said she is "repeating" ideas because she is building her brand. Maybe it is better to say she is repeating ideas because she is clever enough. It is related, but it is not the same. While fashion industry is still suffering the effects of the crisis, many designers have decided not to assume risks in vain and just focus on consolidating their power. She knows what we like most, and so here we are.

Los vestidos con patrones al estilo "lolita", junto con los detalles arriesgados en pantalones y blusas (aparentemente prendas simples) convierten esta colecci�n en deseable instantaneamente.

Muchos dijeron que ella est� repitiendo ideas de anteriores colecciones porque est� construyendo su marca. Quiz�s es mejor decir que est� repitiendo ideas simplemente porque es lo suficientemente inteligente. Est� relacionado, pero no es lo mismo. Mientras la industria de la moda a�n se resiente de los efectos directos y colaterales de la crisis, muchos dise�adores han decidido centrarse en consolidar su poder y no asumir riesgos en vano. Ella sabe lo que m�s nos gusta, y ah� lo tenemos.
