Hummingbird Bakery

The smell of the cupcakes is heady; it works as the singing of the mermaids. Even if you are walking on Portobello Road with no intention of getting inside the Hummingbird Bakery, you do. Every single cupcake there is so cute, so girlie, so festive that you do not even consider its calories; vanilla, red velvet or chocolate flavour? That�s the only question. Lovely pastel colours (soft pink, sweet green, vanilla yellow or turquoise blue) incite you to feel an extreme desire of trying them all and do not help with the eternal doubt, what to go for? Finally it was a vanilla sponge topped with chocolate butter cream icing and chocolate shavings. After having paid �1.75, the friendly lady put the cupcake inside a little rectangular white cardboard box: compulsory take away due to the tininess of the place. It�s a bomb of calories, but worth trying it at least once.

El olor de las magdalenas es embriagador; funciona como un canto de sirenas. Incluso si est�s caminando por Portobello Road sin ninguna intenci�n de entrar en la panader�a Hummingbird, lo haces. Cada una de las magdalenas es extremadamente femenina y bonita, todas son tan festivas que las calor�as parecen no existir y lo �nico que te preguntas es el sabor: vainilla, terciopelo rojo o chocolate. Los colores pastel (rosa palo, verde suave, vainilla o turquesa) te incitan a sentir un deseo extremo de probarlas todas. Finalmente fue una magdalena de vainilla con virutas de chocolate. Tras haber pagado �1.75, la amistosa mujer la meti� dentro de una adorable caja rectangular de cart�n: versi�n para llevar, obligatorio debido a lo que peque�a que es la tienda. Es una bomba de calor�as, pero merece la pena probarla al menos una vez.
