This year's "Little Red Dress" by INC, a Macy's exclusive brand, will benefit American Heart Month. The design comes from Project Runway's Season Six winner Irina Shabayeva.

Irina Shabayeva for INC International Concepts Available Exclusively at Macy's

BPR Field Reporter, Kenda Nunez attended the launch party for Irina Shabayeva's INC International Concepts collection and sends us this report. Thank you Kenda and Irina!



Project Runway Season 6 winner, Irina Shabayeva joined forces with INC International Concepts to launch her Spring/Summer 2011 line available exclusively at Macy's.

The event was held at the modern Trump Soho Hotel Tuesday, January 18th. A beautiful penthouse surrounded by glass with a New York City Skyline was the perfect background for this modern collection. The area was full of industry insiders and photographers that wanted to see what Shabayeva had created.



The designs consisted of everything a woman needs in her closet; dresses, separates, denim and really cool outerwear. Some of the pieces had color blocks, others flowed delicately, and were peppered with beautiful embellishments. There were also jersey dresses that were rich jewel tones. This line can be described as wearable and fun and most importantly, beautiful.

The best part about the line is the fact that it�s available with great prices at Macy's. The collection ranges in price from $49-$159. The line will be available at stores starting February 19th in 50 Macy�s stores throughout the country including Herald Square (New York) and online at Macys.com.

Ms. Shabayeva and her team welcomed Blogging Project Runway and gave us one of the first interviews of the night. She was wearing one of her designs and looked great. Irina explained that making every woman feel beautiful is one of her inspirations. She told us that dance and fluidity were a big part behind this collection. It�s great to see the talent of all Project Runway designers beyond the competition and to learn about their achievements after their involvement with the show.



PS: As I was leaving the party I passed by the DJ booth and noticed, she was wearing one of Irina�s designs, not only did she look great! How nice to see the everyday woman look modern and flirty at affordable prices.

Disney teen star and purported girlfriend of Justin Bieber (did you ever think his name would show up on BPR?) Selena Gomez wore a gorgeous dress by Project Runway Season 6 winner Irina Shabayeva last night at the People's Choice Awards, where she received the Breakout Artist of the Year Award.

Irina Shabayeva in Englewood NJ - Field Report

Irina Shabayeva doesn't want to be know solely as "the winner of Project Runway Season 6."

Judging by what I saw on Saturday, she won't be!

Irina did an in-store appearance last week at The Engle Shop in Englewood, New Jersey, where she showed several looks from her new collection. I caught up with her on Saturday.

The clothes really were remarkable! The palette was very pleasing - yellows, metallic grays and silvers, whites and purples and rosy colors woven into the gowns. I told Irina that I was at her Bryant Park finale show and how much we all enjoyed her collection!

We talked a little about Season 6 and Lifetime. My boyfriend (and photographer) had always wondered if the "Lifetime" designers felt that they lacked exposure (since Bravo usually runs their series on repeat so often.) She answered, "I never really thought of it that way, but I am glad because now I will be known more as a designer than a TV personality."

The store's owner, Paula Parlato, was happy to be featuring Irina's line in her store, which has been a staple in Englewood for over 30 years.

If you live in the NYC/Northern NJ area, it's worth a trip to see the clothes in person. What a fun afternoon!

Irina's HSN collection debuts on November 24th!

Project Runway Season 6 champion Irina Shabayeva will be launching a new collection on HSN Nov. 24th.

Here is the press release: HSN is putting another celebrity in front of the camera. Irina Shabayeva, season 6 winner of �Project Runway,� is offering knit headbands with fake fur muffs, shawl collar sweaters and belted fake shearling jackets as part of a collection launching on HSN on Nov. 24.

Retailing for between $29.90 and $269.90, Shabayeva�s line for HSN is her first attempt to reach a budget-conscious customer; her namesake label, which launched last spring, sells for between $495 and $3,495. Shabayeva, who�s also prepping to introduce a bridal collection for Kleinfeld Bridal next spring, is already brainstorming her sophomore collection, including tops and sportswear, with HSN for fall 2011.

Houston...we have a Fashion Week!

I have to admit I was cautiously optimistic about a Houston Fashion Week, but after seeing the line-up of designers - Christian Siriano, Chloe Dao, Irina Shabayeva - I was sold!

Christian kicked off the week along with Cesar Galindo, a Houston native who will be a contestant on season two of "The Fashion Show". Chloe and Irina showed on Wednesday night alongside seasoned designer Mark Bouwer. I was surprised to see Kayln Hemphill (winner of "Models of the Runway") walking in all of the shows throughout the week. She's a Houston native as well and she's certainly made us proud!

The week garnered tons of press, especially with the help of George Bush Sr. and Barbara Bush who showed up on Tuesday night to cheer on granddaughter Lauren Bush as she premiered her own collection!

Chloe closed the week with a private viewing of her collection at Lot 8. I got the chance to chat with her about the inspiration behind the collection (birds) and the technical aspects of some of the dresses. She was a fabulous host as always!

I can't wait for Houston Fashion Week 2011...maybe we'll be seeing collections from one of our remaining seasons 8 designers in the Lone Star State!
