Trend Alert: The Denim Jacket

Within the last two days, tabloid magnets, Nicole Richie and Jessica Simpson have sported very similar looks.
Jessica Simpson was seen leaving L.A restaurant Katsuya on Thursday night. She draped her body in a wild (literally) print maxi dress covered in tigers, leopards, zebras...hey lets just settle for the entire animal kingdom. She paired this dress with a True Religion 'Jimmy' cropped denim jacket. The jacket was perhaps the most subtle of the outfit which also included a studded Lanvin Jet Set handbag and Christian Louboutin leopard print heels.

Seen leaving a hair salon earlier this week, the positively pregnant Nicole Richie wore a multicolored paisley print maxi dress to cover her baby bump. She pulled the look together with an up style knotted bun in her hair, sleek wayfarer sunglasses and a Paige Premium Denim Vermont Jacket in Westward wash. While Jessica Simpson opted for heels, Nicole kept it casual with Havaiana flip flops...or thongs as we like to call it Down Under ;)

Fashion Flashback- Jessica Simpson

Back in 2002 Jessica Simpson accompanied by her then-husband Nick Lachey, a Donna Karan Bag and a trendy trucker hat along the lines of Von Dutch, wore a t-shirt reading "Talentless But Connected". Never has a t-shirt rung more truth.

WORST DRESSED OF THE WEEK

I really like Jessica Simpson but that cowboy hat isn't really working for me or Jessica for that matter. Jessica arrived at LAX airport in a full blown cowboy hat, oversized bag and wooden heeled shoes. Jess, I get that your trying to break out into country singing and you want to look the part, but don't lose all your previous pop fans while your at it!

Jeans and jackets

When everything is tried and tested in your wardrobe, the one thing you can always rely on is a great pair of jeans.

The right fit, cut and style can make for a slick outfit day or night, which is the rule Halle Berry, Katie Holmes and Jessica Simpson put to the test of late.

All three chose to leave their OTT designer clothes in their wardrobes whilst pairing their beloved blue jeans with classic black jackets. Rather than focusing on colour, Halle Berry's jacket relyed on its snake skin texture to bring out it's appeal. Whilst Katie Holmes wore a carefree 60's style swing jacket.

The result is great, effortless and wearable any day of the week.

The Return of Jessica Simpson

After her divorce and her dried up relationship with John Mayer, Jessica Simpson fell into Hollywood's shadow, but now shes re-emerging and I'm loving it.

After all this is the girl that introduced me to the importance of status bags and open my eyes to a world where cotton bed sheets can cost well into the thousands.

Watching Newly Weds, led Jessica Simpson to become my 2nd girl crush of all time, after the Spice Girls back in the day. So this post is a dedication to my 2nd girl crush (or 6th if you don't count the Spice Girls collectively) and her style back in the day!

Celebs can't pull of High Waist Pants!

I'm still waiting to see just one celebrity pull of the high waisted pants without looking like a complete dork. Mischa Barton, Kylie Minogue, Jessica Simpson, Rihanna and Paris Hilton's good friend Kim Kardashian all attempted to pull of these pants and in my opinion-all failed!

It's funny though, because i have seen a lot of ordinary women on the streets wearing high-waist pants, and they all look fantastic. Perhaps they just don't photograph well...

Jessica Simpson's style back on track

Rewind a couple of years back and you'll remeber Jessica Simpson being an "it girl" with a much copied style, a love for designer and glamour, glamour, glamour!

Fast forward a bit, and you've got a newly divorced Jessica trying her luck with John Mayer and a new look. A look that didn't really work for her...either tooo casual or trying to hard, it was just all over the place!

Fast forward just a bit more, and now we have a newly single Jessica Simpson, who's style is coming back on track. Showing off a great figure, in simple yet stylish outfits, hopefully the Jessica we all loved will make a comeback!
