News flash! The Guardian is stalking me!
I think the Guardian's fashion team are stalking me... Either that or Stephen Jones is.
A few months ago I got it into my head that it would be a fun thing to make a hat out of newspaper. I'm sure I was procrastinating from doing important work, but that's hardly the point. I wanted to make a newspaper hat that you could actually wear outside, so I came up with the idea of lacquering it with varnish.
So I was a bit miffed when I saw that Guardian had done something similar in the G2 on Wednesday. Especially because they called it the fashion-forward hat for "Recessionistas" which is just inane and ridiculous. When did being creative start being called being "recessiony"?
Their hat (though I can't figure out if it's a Guardian design or a Stephen Jones design):

To be fair, the Guardian has struck a deal with the V&A whereby if you rock up in your hat made from the Guardian (surely according to their "easy-to comprehend in case you're completely thick" instructions), they will give you two tickets to the Stephen Jones hat exhibition for the price of one. Good luck finding a second person willing to wear such a stupid looking hat.
Moral of the story? Ditch the Guardian and make your own cool stuff.

The accessories for spring
Each season it's harder to sum up what accessories you need. It's a totally different world which needs tons of patience. Here a brief analysis about my basics for this summer: it's all about bows, headwraps and hats. Obviously, at least a belt is extremely necessary. Stressing the waist is the better thing you can do with it. Flower prints on the dresses (I've just collected the seven I like most) are a must, it does not matter the size and length of the dresses, it's the prints what matters. Gladiator sandals were back last summer, and you have a second chance to buy them. A little bird told me God asks you before letting you come inside the paradise if you have or not ones!

Cada temporada es m�s dif�cil reunir los accesorios que necesitas para cumplir a rajatabla (o por lo menos un poquito) el c�digo de honor de las/los fashionistas. Este a�o es todo tan hippy que parece que ha sido un poquito m�s f�cil. Bandas en el pelo, pamelas, sombreros, lazos... Los cinturones que destacan la cintura se han visto en todas las colecciones y son una pieza clave en el armario de este verano. Si no quieres, este verano no vas a tener que ver las estrellas subida en esos tacones de 10 cent�metros, porque puedes ir en sandalias planas, eso s�, de gladiador. Los tacones quedan casi reservados para la noche.
