MTV Movie Awards 2011

The MTV Movie Awards were last week and in true fashion I'm posting a blog about my favorite outfits :)

I think she looks really pretty, but the dress is just ok for me.

Again, she looks cute, but the outfit is just ok. Kinda boring.

I like this outfit, but I'm pretty sure it's the same one that J.Lo wore to another awards show this year already.

Her shoes are a weird color for the dress. They cut off her legs and make her look stubby. The clutch doesn't match. And her boobs look really funny. Not a great look.

This is seriously so bad. Why would you buy this? As point out on "Fashion Police", it looks like a uterus and ovaries...where they should be...

She is so terrible. That's all.

I just don't like this. Not a fan of the pattern or the style for this awards show.

Ok I figured I'd post about the after parties too, because most of the outfits I saw I did NOT love...really? have fun, but still look good people!

Madonna

ohmigosh I want to hurl. I know it's Madonna, but it doesn't make it ok. Yeah she looks better than when Britney did something like this, but still...just say no.

I thought she looked really good. I just liked this dress. Nothing bad to say.

This picture she looks cute in...but I don't like her dress. And in the next one...she does not. Plus you can see more of the dress. I hate the weird train thing it has on the back and it's just too busy or something.

I think I would like this if it was a short dress. But it's too much as a long dress.

I really like this dress, but it's heavy on her. For an after party I would have worn something shorter and more fun. I do really like her hair and make up though.

I like this dress a lot. I think it looks really good on her. But again I think she looks too dressed up or something. I would have worn a lighter material if I was wearing a long dress.

I love this. I think she is one of the best dressed for the after parties. I love the detail.

Loved her dress. Thought it was perfect. Short and fun, glitter, shoes matched perfect....so good!

In Her Shoes

After vowing never to betray my VHS videos I have succumb to pressure and finally accepted that DVDs are here to stay. Also the DVD feature on my MacBook is wonderful and I just love the subtitles as well as the extra features that you get. Ok, I stand corrected, DVDs are not so bad after all. I treated myself to two DVD titles over the weekend, In Her Shoes starring Cameron Diaz and Toni Collette and Shopgirl with Claire Danes. I have not finished Shopgirl yet but I totally and utterly adored 'In Her Shoes', it was just the sort of film that makes me go ga ga. It is about two sisters who are at complete end of the spectrum. Maggie played by Diaz is blond and ditzy and wonders through life aimlessly leaving others to pick up the pieces from her mess and Rose is a serious brunette who has a high powered job as a lawyer at a prestigious firm. Despite their huge differences the sisters are very close and tied by a huge tragedy from their past. However a traumatic event occurs that causes a rift between the two sisters and it is left for a lost family relative to bring Maggie and Rose back together. This gem of a film has wonderful dialogue, a sexy storyline and a happy slushy ending. Right up my street. 'In Her Shoes' is a film adaptation of the book of the same name which is written by uber chick lit author, Jennifer Weiner. Now I am a member of a few Chicklit groups and Ms Weiner is right up there as one of the gods of this exciting genre. However, funnily enough I have never read any of her titles so I really didn't know what to expect from this film. The movie is directed by Curtis Hanson whose other works include LA Confidential, Wonder Boys and 8 Mile and he does a fine job with the legendary Ridley Scott in producer capacity. However it is screenwriter, Susannah Grant who makes this film tick what with her witty and sharp dialogue. Grant has certainly had plenty of practise with lush dialogue while working on hit TV series, Party of Five and the award winning film Erin Brockovich. Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette and grand dame, Shirley McClaine all put in stunning performances that make this film shine. I am off to check out Jennifer Weiner's collection on amazon.com.
