So Much Eloquence + Justin Bieber's Stupidity Continues to Amaze

I am extremely tired so I am not fit for writing a substantial post. So here is a lovely video as well as some Cole Mohr pictures. Cole Mohr posting has been sparse lately so I figured I would indulge y'all.

Also, there is a bit at the end about JBieb's Rolling Stone cover and interview.

figures.

According to Rolling Stone's interview, JBiebs is opposed to abortion, even if the pregnancy was the result of rape. Young Bieber, do not attempt to discuss matters you know nothing about. See below:
"...his response to whether abortions should be allowed in cases of rape, reads: 'Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don't know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that.'"

On politics, JB boldly states, "I'm not sure about parties, but whatever they have in Korea, that's bad." And in terms of religion, he says, "I feel I have an obligation to plant little seeds with my fans. I'm not going to tell them, 'You need Jesus,' but I will say at the end of my show, 'God loves you.'"

More Stuff I Like

I have Daphne Guinness on the mind. Why is she so terribly stylish? I think my favorite quote of hers has to be, "I'm dressed really weird." I also like how she apparently dresses for the "old people who laugh at me in airports" and not the fashion world. I somehow sort of doubt this but it's amusing all the same.

I also found this Etsy store that sells horrifically campy shoes, probably even campier than the sparkly felt gingerbread house sitting on my dining room table.
You can shop "Sole Sensations, Fantasy Shoe Sculpture by: Robert Taylor" HERE.

Anyway, I thought I would share photos from a few of my favorite editorials. I added some of them to the sidebar on your right, but I want to put them on here so you can enjoy in their full glory.

I'm getting my braces off tomorrow!

Agyness Deyn having a Fashion Stroke

Not to many models are lucky enough to evolve from covergirl to celebrity but Agyness is well on her way. And why not? She is one of the most sought after models of recent times, singer and dating a singer, Albert Hammond from The Strokes.
However aside from her superb editorials and campaign shoots, Agyness popped on the fashionista's pedistool thanks to her quirky and individually adrogynous style. However of late, the more she tries to stand out, the more i wish she didn't. I normally like a lot of her outfits, but the pinafore with matched up red bag, scarf, socks and converse sneakers isn't one of my favourites outfits but i guess if your famous you can get away with anything right?

Tyra the new Oprah

Martha, Oprah, Tyra...really? The New York Times Magazine is claiming that Tyra Banks could be the next big female branded self as she transforms from model to actress to talkshow host...do you agree?

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week: Kirrily Johnston

Kirrily Johnston was a designer brand that seemed to be moving away from the much favoured new rave & 80's styles that were ever so present on Australian catwalks for the last few seasons.

This season, it seemed Kirrily Johnston washed off all that fluro for an almost Calvin Klein clean palette. Stark white sheets draped over grey Prada-esque thigh high socks. The palettes remained simple with whites, greys and black, which for Australian fashion is unusual, as summer is the embodiment of colour for most of the world, particularly Australians.

Neverthless, a lot of the Kirrily pieces were wearable, such as the fuschia party dress which is sure to sell well. Although the theme started off as with a wonderfully African Nomadic vibe, but then faded away into a confusing mix of disco, 80s and Miami beach life. It's as if she was trying mold a new image whilst still holding onto past expectations, that would cater for all.
Either way, the brands new image hinted at the style of Fashion Designer, Victoria Gazinskaya. The looks she wore throughout the Spring Summer 08 Fashion Shows, particularly that at the Nina Ricci Show, has an uncanny resemblance to the looks sported at the Kirrily Johnston. Gazinskaya an unpronounced muse perhaps?

Rosemount Australia Fashion Week: Zimmerman Runway

As some of you may know, Rosemount Australian Fashion Week has landed once again. As per usual nothing has really got me my heart racing. A lot of designers so far have stuck to the familiar and brought with them lashings of street style as opposed to high style.

I expected nothing more nor nothing less from the Spring/Summer 2008 Zimmerman Collection. It was all about Bikinis, bikinis bikinis. Although Zimmerman apparently make great bikinis, i think it is necessary for a designer to showcase pieces with a bit more substance in order to have the privilege of showcasing their collections on a runway.

However, Zimmerman did come up with little paisley dresses perfect for Australian summer days thus satisfying the desires of their beach bum Paris Hilton wannabes, whilst the beautifully designed wide leg pant brought a more mature city feel to the collection and in the process catering for a wider audience.

Malibu Barbie: Kate Moss in California

Kate Moss played her mommy role as she stepped out with her daughter Lila Grace and her friends in Malibu California.

In a casual very Californian style outfit with cut-off short shorts, tee (sans bra) and cardie, she took the kids out for a day at the Markets.

It seems her new Boyfriend, Jamie Hince is a good influence on her life, so much so that, that according to rumours, they're considering marriage.

Fall 2008/2009: Lanvin Fashion Shows

Perfection is the only word that can define the Lanvin 2008/2009 Fashion Show. This season Alber Elbaz continued to deliver awe inspiring pieces that still remain true to timeless form.

A classic pencil skirt was tiered and ruched, whilst one-armed dresses may pose themselves as the new sleeveless. Not all was new though. Mary-Jane pumps, skinny leg pants, patent textures, fur accents and weighty statement jewelery still a season staple for the Lanvin lovers of the world.

This season, Lanvin catered for both the working girl with simple silhouettes while up keeping it's reputation for glamorous after-five dresses.

Fall 2008: Lady Like Looks

Say what you will about the lady like looks of the season, but i think the many Cory Kennedy wannabe's of the world would benefit from taking a leaf out of this look. The structure, the polish, and refinement would make any girl fit to meet the parents.

It's probarbly not an everyday look for most, but work, specials events and family gatherings can most certainly call on this almost royal look.

Who wore it best?
Celebrity/Actress/Sex Tape Veteran Pamela Anderson or
Models Grieta Bastika & Lisa Cant??

What does Orange & Grey make?

When Fall fashions come our way, year after year, it is no suprise to see sober, dark or dulled out colour pallettes rapidly filling up clothing racks of our favourite boutiques. Black, brown and off-whites were still in around, however grey takes the cake when it comes to designer's fall colour of choice. With grey being a big hit last Fall, nearly every designer from Brian Reyes to Christopher Kane included grey peices in their collections.

Whilst muted colours did prevail on the catwalk, it was a refreshing change to see various shades of orange being splashed randomly into collections. The thought of wearing such bright colours during winter, may give migranes to some, but pairing them with black stocking or having the colour peep out from under the arms of your coat in the form of gloves, makes the colour all the more wearable.

From pumpkin coloured A-Line mini skirts, to structured double breasted coats in Tangerine hues, it seems our designers all had a similar vision, transferred telepathically from our most elite to the rawest designers.

Pencil It In!!

Pencil skirts are an all time favourite for many celebrities because of their simple yet chic body hugging effect. Angelina Jolie is a massive fan of pencil skirts, wearing them anywhere and everywhere, and showing us the true art of dressing down a pencil skirt.

Whilst Hayden Panettiere, Hilary Duff, Fergie and Victoria Beckham cinched in their bodies with these slim line skirts, the catwalks of New York Fashion Week saw pencil skirt-clad models strutting down the runway in abundance, from well known names such as Michael Kors to younger labels such Staerk and Jenni Kayne.

I'm a pencil skirt lover, so this is a look i'll definetely continue wearing :)

Miranda Kerr and Layering

Alot of people find new Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr annoying for some reason, but annoying or not, i absolutely love the way this girl has layered her outfit.

Using only a grey and black pallette, Miranda layered a long grey cardigan under a leather jacket which added toughness to the otherwise dainty cardi. Although this look is not new, being sported by many models and celebrities, the outfit has a certain rock chick vibe which is always a winner.

Natalie Portman New York Times style mag

i know i'm a bit late with my blog posts but i have an excuse...i was being a nerd and studying for my final law exams at uni. ok thats a lie. I was studying for 10% of the time and procrastinating the other 90% ( i then i wonder why i never know anything in the exam). Then for the next week i was at work all day, everyday for a few lousy dollars.

But anyways i'm back because i feel so lost without writing on my blog and reading other peoples. So if i'm blogging about old stuff you just have to grin and bare it lol.

Anyways last week i was captivated by the photographs of Natalie Portman in the NYT Style magazine. Ahhh i always knew she was beautiful but these photos just prove how versatile she is-one minute she's sweet the next minute seductive.

And besides posting about Natalie Portman is befitting for this time of year as her features remind me of an elf..and a very pretty one at that :)

Spring 2008 Trend: Jumpsuits

Many of the spring runways had models showing off the 70's fashion staple- the jumpsuit. Jumpsuits have the ability to look cheap, but i really like the way in which Versace (picture 1&3) has brought back the look-feminine and stylish without a hint of prudishness. I would definitely wear ones that resemble Versace. Whilst Chanel brought about younger versions inspired by the 90's.

Kate Moss was one step ahead when she rocked upto the Kate Moss for Top Shop Christmas launch party in a black satin jumsuit, although the look has been seen in many chainstore over the last few winters.
And is it just me or does the model Vlada in the second picture at the top have extremely thin legs?

Christian Louboutin Ariella Studded Boots

My favourite shoes of the season, without a doubt in my mind is the Christian Louboutin Ariella Studded Shoes. Although its heading into summer in Australia, it doesn't stop me from imagining myself trotting around New York in these sexalicious boots.

But i am getting more and more frustrated at myself lately wondering why i wasn't born a rich heiress or a child star, because if i had been, then i would be wearing these love-them-or-hate-them-shoes right now along with my celebrity BFF's Ashley Olsen and Model Coco Rocha...i guess some of us can only dream :(
If you love them and are lucky enough to get them you can purchase them online at Net-a-Porter for approximately US $1060. At the moment the black ones are sold out, but the fuchsia ones are pretty cool too...

Who Wore it Better? Marc Jacobs Resort dress

Although this particular Marc Jacob's dress is not one of my favourites, it still caught eye of fashion addict Victoria Beckham.

Victoria opted for a bright green version of the beige dress seen on the runway. To me, the dress on the model doesn't look particularly appealing, but i think Victoria looks like a Palm tree.

Who do you think wore it best, Model or Posh Spice?

Cindy Crawford's Mini-me

Cindy Crawford took her daughter Kaya to watch Mary Poppins and this picture is proof that Supermodels make cute kids, isn't her 6 year old daughter already strikingly pretty??
Maybe we have a little supermodel on our hands 10 years down the track..

Model Style Anja Rubik: Wide Leg Pants

I know Anja Rubik is going for the funkier, cooler image this season with her new crop and all, but i really don't know what to make of these wide leg pants she's sporting.

I like the hair, the leather jacket and the idea of combining them with wide legs, but perhaps these pants are just a little too baggy for a teeny tiny model?
Maybe she should have got mummy to pinch them in a little before she left home.

Fashion Week: Chanel Spring 2008

At first i wasn't a big fan of the Chanel Spring 2008, probably because the look was a lot different to many of their other shows, but it has really grown on me.

The looks were based around key elements of white, blue, red and stars and looked more like it was designed for the Chloe Sevigny/Nicole Richie-type of girl (which would be great for sales if seen on any of these girls.)

However, remaining true to the Chanel form, the collection included many classic pieces.
